Melissa believes in having space to heal your mind and body, together.  This practice is open to anyone who is open to the practice of moving through feelings while remaining grounded in body and breath. If appropriate, Melissa may introduce some breathing techniques, yoga postures, and meditations to bring the body and mind into balance.

why incorporate yoga

When it comes to relaxing, our bodies have a superpower in one of the cranial nerves that connect the brain and body. The Vagus Nerve can activate a relaxation response, and can be engaged through intentional breath. 

Starting with the Vagus Nerve and the Parasympathetic Nervous System, incorporating Yoga and Mindfulness into our therapeutic work together allows Melissa to teach clients how to help their body to support them through life.

Melissa is trained in yoga and has completed RYT-200 Yoga Teacher Training. She is currently working toward RTY-500, to be completed in early 2023.
